NAIDOC Picnic
Join us on Sunday 3rd July for the Opening Ceremony of NAIDOC Week on the Cassowary Coast. The theme is "Get Up, Stand Up, Show Up" with us to amplify our voices and narrow the gap between aspiration and reality, good intent and outcome. Get Up!
Activities include: traditional dance display, Mamu HSL display & activities, traditional weaving practice, Mamu HSL Indigenous Dye, Fibre & Food Garden Tour, children's activities and nature play.

National Tree Day Picnic
Join us on Sunday 7th August for our celebration of National Tree Day. National Tree Day is a call to action for all Australians to put their hands in the earth and give back to their community. It's a day to venture outdoors, get to know your community and most importantly have fun. Free activities include native seedling propagation, previous tree day plantings tour, weaving, children's activities.

Arbor Day Picnic
Celebrate Arbor Day at the Johnstone River Community Gardens with our annual Arbor Day Picnic with tree planting and education, stalls, childrens plantings and activities, and a guided tour with President and Arborist Bernard Holden. All this followed with a picnic lunch at noon.

Join us at Johnstone River Community Gardens for an informative day about Permaculture including stalls and presentations from people who are living off the produce from their own gardens following Permaculture principles. Our usual guided tours, childrens activities and BBQ lunch are happening!
